Site Fees & Running Costs

One of the most common questions from people considering holiday home ownership is: what does it actually cost to run? It’s a fair question, and we’d rather answer it clearly than leave you to piece it together after you’ve purchased.
Below is a breakdown of what to expect at Rivermead. For the most current figures, we’d always recommend speaking with us directly — site fees are reviewed annually, and costs vary depending on the holiday home you choose and how often you visit.

Annual Site Fee

Your site fee covers your pitch licence at Rivermead — the right to keep your holiday home on your chosen pitch for the season. It also contributes to the maintenance of the park grounds, the communal facilities, and the general management of the site.

Utilities

Gas, electricity, and water are metered individually to each holiday home and billed separately from your site fee. You pay for what you use. Bills are issued twice a year — typically in spring and autumn.
• Gas — metered to your holiday home, billed bi-annually
• Electricity — metered to your holiday home, billed bi-annually
• Water — supplied to the park, usage billed bi-annually
Usage varies depending on how often you visit, how many people use the holiday home, and the time of year. For a realistic picture of what to expect, we’re happy to talk you through what owners typically experience.

Insurance

Holiday home insurance is a requirement at Rivermead — your holiday home must be adequately insured for the duration of your ownership. Specialist holiday home insurance covers the structure, public liability, and contents. Costs vary depending on the age, value, and specification of your holiday home. We can point you towards providers if helpful.

Your First Year

To make your first season as straightforward as possible, every holiday home purchased at Rivermead includes your first season’s site fees. There are no additional set-up costs in year one beyond the purchase price itself.

The Honest Picture

When you weigh the annual cost of owning at Rivermead against the alternative — booking and paying for holiday accommodation each time you want to get away — the arithmetic often looks rather different from what people expect. With your own holiday home on the park, you have somewhere available whenever you want it, without the uncertainty of availability, inconsistent quality, or the sense of always being a guest somewhere else.

For a full and honest conversation about what the total annual cost looks like for your situation, give us a call. We’re happy to talk it through without any obligation.
